Details of Major Assignments
This area lists directions for major assignments such as papers, projects, slide decks, presentations, etc. Discussions and quizzes are not detailed in this area. Below is a single example.
Application Paper: Priority Trend for the Workplace
Points: 50
Due: Sunday, September 25
Description of Assignment: In a paper of 5 to 7 pages, select a trend that you would place as an Innovation Trigger or on the Peak of Inflated Expectations on the Hype Cycle. It can be the trend that you originally selected for your discussion, it can be the trend the class voted on as the one that should be a top priority for any organization, or it can be a completely new one.
Section One: Discuss the selected the trend and justify it as a priority. Use evidence from course readings and your own research to make the case for this trend.
Section Two: Using course readings, your own research, and information from your workplace, connect this trend to your workplace. How does this trend further your organization's mission, vision, or values? Does it connect to the strategic plan? Make a convincing argument as to why your workplace should begin development towards this trend.
Section Three: Identify three (3) actions that would need to occur at your workplace for this trend to become a priority for your organization. Be sure to discuss any barriers that might prevent progress and explore how these actions provide an leadership opportunity for someone with your unique qualifications or someone with your future degree. (Hint: Look at the course and program learning outcomes, and make connections.)
