Modules is Where the Action Is

Modules, available in Course Navigation, house all of the content and activities for a course. Always click on Modules to see what you need to do for a week, module, or unit of study.

Important: Courses will have many modules. However, you may often only see one. This occurs when an instructor has locked modules until a certain date or they have placed prerequisites on them, meaning you must complete an activity or task for additional modules to be available to you.

To see how many modules a course has, refer to the Tentative Course Outline in your syllabus.

Navigation Tips and Tricks

Use the breadcrumb trail at the top of the page to move back to where you came from.

Use the Previous / Next buttons at the bottom of each page to move on to the next item without having to return to Modules in Course Navigation. (Tip: If you hover your mouse over the buttons, it will tell you the name of the item that is previous or next.)

Click the Expand/Collapse arrow to adjust your personal view. You can use collapsing modules to keep track of where you are in the course. For example, when you finish the module, you can collapse it to where you know where you are in the course or what module you need to work through.

Use the carets next to module names to expand and collapse the contents.

If You Get Lost ...

If you get lost, either one of these actions will help you get back on familiar ground.

Click on the course name in the breadcrumb trail. This will take you to the course home page.
Click on Modules. This will take you to back to the list of modules.
